UAE Sets Record with World’s Longest Sustainable Pizza Line in Dubai

UAE breaks Guinness record with sustainable pizzas, blending innovation, tradition, and community support.

The UAE has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the longest line of sustainable pizzas, prepared at the Dubai Festival Bay Intercontinental Hotel. This remarkable achievement reflects the nation’s dedication to sustainability, culinary innovation, and environmental responsibility, while celebrating Italian cuisine at its finest.

Sponsored by Italfood, the event brought together tradition and modernity. Italfood’s legacy, shaped by Ciro Romano, and the forward-thinking approach of Tareq Bkairat and Akar Jamal, demonstrated how heritage and innovation can unite to achieve outstanding results.

"At Italfood, we are proud to contribute to such an important transformative initiative," said an Italfood representative. "Beyond addressing sustainability, this event captures the spirit of giving back to the community, supported by the Dubai Charity Association and Hifz Al Niaama. Breaking the record for the longest pizza, while upholding sustainability, shows how gastronomic excellence can align with environmental care and social impact."

Since its founding in 1955, Italfood has been renowned for producing high-quality cheese using 100% natural ingredients without preservatives. The company sources fresh milk daily from local Emirati producers while staying true to its Italian roots with traditional recipes. Italfood’s dedication to quality has made it a leader in the UAE’s culinary industry.

The initiative also received support from Hifz Al Niaama, a humanitarian project established in 2004 by the "Royati Family Society." The organisation collects surplus food from events, redistributing it to families in need on the same day. This reduces food waste while providing essential support to vulnerable communities, embodying the UAE’s values of generosity and sustainability.

A distinctive feature of the pizzas was the use of filtered seawater as a sustainable ingredient. Free of chemicals and enriched with 92 essential minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids, this innovation enhanced the flavour and nutritional value of the pizzas. Dr. Vincenzo Di Donna, who facilitated the collaboration between Italy and Dubai, noted, "Our bodies reflect the composition of seawater. Incorporating this ingredient enriches both taste and health benefits."

The event went beyond breaking records by focusing on giving back. Portions of the pizzas were donated to local charities, with proceeds supporting philanthropic initiatives. This effort highlights Dubai’s ongoing commitment to fostering community well-being and ensuring access to quality food for all.

This achievement underscores the UAE’s ability to blend innovation, sustainability, and cultural heritage, setting a global standard for excellence in both environmental and social initiatives.
